Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. The Jamaican Sonia Pottinger was once called ‘The most important Jamaican woman involved in music business’. Dancing Down Orange Street is a collection of some of her famous productions for different artists. The album captures the moment when rocksteady transformed into reggae by speeding up a little and moving towards a more jerky and less smooth musical palette. Famous singers such as Delano Stewart and Ken Boothe are present on the album with multiple tracks. The vocal trio The Melodians provide a couple of beautiful songs. Even after all those years (released for the first time in 1969) the compilation remains a treasure of showcasing some of the finest songs produced by Sonia.
